The second leg of the Jeddah double-header delivered a tactical masterclass as António Félix da Costa claimed his first victory for Jaguar TCS Racing. In an energy-critical Round 5 of the 2026 season, the Portuguese driver and his team perfectly navigated the complexities of the Gen3 Evo’s power deployments to finish 2.5 seconds clear of the field. This win marks a significant milestone for da Costa, representing his first trip to the top step since Portland in 2024 and validating his recent move to the Jaguar squad.

The race was defined by a cautious opening phase where several drivers, including early leader Oliver Rowland and polesitter Edoardo Mortara, took turns at the front to manage energy. Da Costa, however, made the decisive move by being the first among the frontrunners to activate both of his 350kW Attack Modes. This aggressive strategy allowed him to build a gap during his second activation that proved insurmountable for his rivals. Despite a stressful final few laps filled with dashboard alarms, da Costa remained composed to bring the car home.

Sébastien Buemi secured a hard-fought second place for Envision Racing, a remarkable turnaround after qualifying at the back of the grid the previous day. Buemi explained that his strategy was to lead early simply to avoid the “jungle” of the mid-pack and protect his car from damage. While he managed to maintain a podium position, he acknowledged that da Costa’s superior energy management allowed the Jaguar driver to stay at full throttle longer, ultimately securing the win.

Reigning champion Oliver Rowland rounded out the podium in third, providing a much-needed boost for the Nissan Formula E Team. After struggling with pace in recent outings, the team worked late into the night to overhaul the car’s setup, a move that paid off as Rowland remained in the hunt for the duration of the race. Behind the podium finishers, Mortara took fourth for Mahindra, while Dan Ticktum fended off teammate Pepe Martí in a robust battle for fifth.

In the championship hunt, Pascal Wehrlein’s eighth-place finish was enough to keep him at the top of the Drivers’ standings, though his lead over Mortara has narrowed to just six points. Porsche continues to hold a steady advantage in the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ championships, but Jaguar’s resurgent form in Jeddah suggests a tightening battle as the season progresses. The victory for da Costa serves as a powerful reminder that in the world of Formula E, the right strategy is often as valuable as raw speed.

Pascal Wehrlein marked his 100th Formula E start in spectacular fashion, securing a clinical victory in the first of two races under the lights in Jeddah. The Season 10 World Champion utilized a superior strategic gamble, perfectly timing his Pit Boost and Attack Mode phases to outpace the field and propel himself into the lead of the 2025/26 Drivers’ Championship.

Starting from third on the grid, Wehrlein opted for a patient approach, delaying his final power activations until after his mandatory Pit Boost stop. This strategy allowed him to utilize the 50kW, all-wheel-drive Attack Mode overlap to devastating effect, pulling out a massive eight-second cushion over his rivals in the closing stages. Once in clear air, the Porsche driver managed his pace effortlessly to cross the line for a historic “centenary” win.

The battle for the remaining podium spots was a story of recovery. Mahindra Racing’s Edoardo Mortara endured a nightmare start from pole position, suffering extreme wheelspin that saw him drop to fifth by the end of the first lap. Despite the “door-banging” chaos of the opening corners, Mortara showcased the improved pace of the Mahindra package, slicing back through the field with a late Attack Mode to secure second place. While satisfied with the podium, both Mortara and his team lamented the lost opportunity for a win caused by the poor getaway.

The final podium spot went to Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans, who continued his strong form following a win in Miami. Evans made significant progress during the second half of the race, utilizing efficient energy management to execute several aggressive overtakes, including a tight battle with Jake Dennis. He was followed across the line by Nico Müller in the second Porsche, while Jaguar’s António Félix da Costa and Citroën’s Nick Cassidy rounded out the top six. Cassidy’s performance was particularly notable, as he surged from 13th on the grid to salvage vital points.

Wehrlein’s victory, bolstered by the point for fastest lap, has significant implications for the title race. He now leads the standings with 64 points to Cassidy’s 48. Porsche’s dominance extends to the team and manufacturer tables as well, where they hold commanding leads over Mahindra and Jaguar, respectively. The paddock remains in Jeddah for Round 5, where the grid will look to challenge Porsche’s supremacy in the second half of the double-header.

The Sunshine State lived up to its reputation for unpredictable weather as Round 3 of the 2025/26 Formula E season touched down in Miami. In a grueling 41-lap race defined by shifting grip levels and relentless rain, Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans delivered a tactical clinic to secure his first points of the season. Starting from ninth on the grid, the New Zealander navigated the spray and a chaotic field to claim a record-breaking 15th career victory.

The race began under the Safety Car due to the damp conditions, with polesitter Nico Müller initially leading the pack. Early on, the advantage seemed to sit with Andretti’s Felipe Drugovich, who utilized an aggressive 350kW Attack Mode activation to surge into the lead. However, as the downpour intensified, the leaderboard shuffled rapidly. A costly mid-race collision between Drugovich and António Félix da Costa sidelined both from the win, handing the advantage back to Müller’s Porsche.

Amidst the turbulence, Evans began his steady climb toward the front. By Lap 27, he had positioned himself directly behind Müller. In the standout moment of the race, Evans executed a perfect “switchback” dummy move, tricking the German defender and slicing past to take a lead he would never relinquish. He eventually crossed the line with a commanding 3.1-second margin, simultaneously becoming the first driver in Formula E history to surpass the 1,000-point career milestone.

The podium was a dominant display for Porsche power, with Müller holding onto second place and teammate Pascal Wehrlein recovering from 11th on the grid to take third. Behind the leaders, Joel Eriksson secured a career-best fourth for Envision Racing, followed by the Mahindra duo of Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara. It was a tougher day for some of the heavy hitters, as reigning champion Oliver Rowland could only manage 12th, while Mexico City winner Nick Cassidy finished 16th after a difficult afternoon.

Despite the scoreless round, Cassidy maintains a narrow two-point lead over Wehrlein in the Drivers’ Championship. For Evans, the win marks a vital “reset” for his title ambitions. Reflecting on his record-breaking achievement, Evans noted that while individual stats are rewarding, his primary focus remains on the elusive world championship trophy. The series now moves forward with Porsche firmly ahead in both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ standings, bolstered by their double-podium finish in the Florida humidity.

The 2025 Google Cloud São Paulo E-Prix kicked off the Formula E season with a masterclass in strategy and resilience from Andretti’s Jake Dennis. Despite starting from pole position, the British driver’s path to the top step of the podium was anything but straightforward. In a chaotic 30-lap encounter at the Anhembi Sambadrome, Dennis had to navigate a high-speed “waiting game,” keeping himself in contention while rivals shuffled for position in the slipstream-heavy Brazilian heat.

The race reached a fever pitch in the closing stages when Nick Cassidy, debuting for Citroën Racing, surged through the field to challenge for the lead. However, Dennis maintained his composure, executing the race-winning overtake on Cassidy on Lap 27. The momentum was briefly halted by a terrifying accident involving rookie Pepe Martí, whose car launched over the Jaguar of Antonio Félix da Costa. Fortunately, Martí escaped unharmed, but the resulting red flag forced a high-pressure, one-lap sprint to the finish line.

During that final dash, Dennis successfully defended his lead against a hard-charging Oliver Rowland. Rowland’s performance was particularly noteworthy, as the reigning champion managed to climb from 13th on the grid to secure a second-place finish for Nissan. Behind them, Cassidy held onto third to give Citroën a podium in their first outing. This victory ended a significant drought for Dennis, marking his first win since early 2024 and proving that the off-season development at Andretti has placed them back at the front of the pack.

The rest of the top six was rounded out by Pascal Wehrlein, Nico Müller, and Max Günther, while local favorite Felipe Drugovich suffered a disappointing blow to his full-time debut. Although Drugovich initially crossed the line in fifth, post-race penalties dropped him to 12th. As the championship heads toward Mexico City on January 10, Dennis sits atop the driver standings, with Andretti leading the teams and Porsche taking the early advantage in the manufacturers’ title race.

For Dennis, the win was more than just points; it was a relief after a challenging year. He noted that the team’s strategy during the “Attack Mode” phases was the deciding factor, allowing him to stay comfortable before the red flag reset the field. For Rowland and Cassidy, the podiums represented a “best-case scenario” after difficult qualifying sessions, setting the stage for what looks to be an incredibly tight battle for the Season 11 world title.

Maximilian Guenther pieced together a perfect race to take his third Formula E World Championship victory in the ABB New York City E-Prix Round 10, and on home soil for the BMW i Andretti Motorsport team ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas di Grassi.

The 24-year-old German measured things maturely from fourth on the grid to pick his way into the lead as double champion Vergne forced his way by polesitter and long-time race leader Nick Cassidy (Envision Virgin Racing) at the hairpin with five minutes to go
Guenther made his efficiency advantage count, with a percentage point of usable energy in-hand over Vergne meaning the Frenchman had to settle for second spot while Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Lucas di Grassi clambered up the order from seventh to take the chequered flag third
The result made it nine winners from 10 races to-date in Formula E’s inaugural campaign as an FIA World Championship, while 19 of the 24 drivers have climbed the podium steps in a super-competitive Season 7
Robin Frijns’s fifth-place finish saw him draw level with Edo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) at the top of the Drivers’ standings after the Swiss-Italian’s non-score
Vergne propelled himself into third in the table, and his result helped DS TECHEETAH take the Teams’ initiative ahead of Round 11 in The Big Apple tomorrow (July 11) from 1330 local time

Mortara went two better than his third-placed finish on the previous day with a second career E-Prix victory to complete a stunning weekend for the Monaco based team as fans made their return to Formula E’s grandstands
TAG Heuer Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein secured a second-placed finish on-track but was later penalised by the addition of five seconds to his race time for improper use of FANBOOST, which saw him demoted to fourth spot
Nick Cassidy achieved a maiden podium following a herculean effort by the Envision Virgin Racing team to rebuild his car late into the night – their rewards, second place following that Wehrlein penalty
Nissan e.dams’ Oliver Rowland led away from Julius Baer Pole Position though contact with a wall late on in the contest compromised his race but the Brit still sealed silverware, coming home a net third
The result sees Mortara become the eighth different winner in nine races and leave Mexico with a 10-point lead at the summit of the Drivers’ World Championship with Mercedes-EQ leading the Teams’ World Championship by three points
